Yes. A doorbell watches one door, so if the reason you are calling is a driveway or a back gate, we will say so on the walkthrough.

At the walk up to it. Aim at the approach so a person is in frame before they arrive, and set the camera back from the door far enough for that to happen. A lens aimed at the door itself gets the back of a hood.

Aim along your own wall or across your own yard, so the frame fills with your own ground. Where a position has to take in something that is not yours, the recorder masks that part of the frame and it is never written to the drive.

Yes. A fence stops a vehicle and it does not stop a person on foot. A fenced yard is also out of sight from the street, and that is exactly why it needs one.

Both positions stay. The doorbell sees the person at the door, close and straight on. The front door camera sees the approach and the street behind it. They answer different questions and neither one answers the other’s.
