What kinds of security cameras does Capital install?
A turret camera for the front and back doors, where it catches faces. A bullet camera for the driveway and long sight lines. A bullet with a pan-tilt camera for the perimeter and the rear corner. And a wired doorbell at the front door. The three cameras run on one cable each to the recorder; the doorbell runs on your existing doorbell power.
Do the cameras need Wi-Fi?
Recording runs on the cable to the recorder and needs no Wi-Fi or cellular service. You can watch live video and clips on your phone from anywhere, and the house needs internet for that.
Where does the footage go?
It goes to a recorder in your house, with a 2 TB drive included and 24/7 recording over PoE. Doorbell footage is kept local.
How many cameras can one recorder run?
The recorder has 8 channels, expandable to 16.
Does the guarantee cover weather damage?
No. Not covered: a tree on the camera, or on the cable; lightning, storm, or flood damage. Everything else in the system is covered.
