Wake Forest Police handles reports for addresses inside town limits. The department runs Police to Citizen, an online system residents can use to search and review existing records — including crash reports and incident reports — by address.
The Wake Forest Police Department's own pages describe that kind of record retrieval. Submitting a brand-new incident report through the portal isn't a documented step on those pages, and neither page names a resident video-camera registry — the kind Raleigh and Cary each run under their own city-branded registration programs.
Wake Forest's Own Office Issues Electrical Permits
Wake Forest handles residential electrical permits through its Inspections Department, a town office instead of a Wake County one. That office reviews the permit application and schedules the inspection on any electrical work a camera installation ties into.
The Homeowner Lighting Exemption
Wake Forest's Unified Development Ordinance covers outdoor lighting in Chapter 10. Section 10.2.2.D exempts an individual homeowner's own lighting from the chapter's standards, unless the fixture is part of a subdivision or site plan's street, common-area or public-area lighting. Section 10.1 governs how the chapter applies to development projects overall.
